Today, I heard the always memorable Mary Evelyn Tucker, coauthor of The Journey of the Universe and the Earth Charter’s preamble, tell the Living School: “If we let ourselves go down the route where we assume that humans are doomed to be nothing more than a problem for the earth, we will have no place to go… Instead, the wisdom traditions need to be brought to bear on dire conditions of these very challenging times… The creativity in this country that could contribute to restoring the planet is mind-boggling and must be mobilized.”
