Fifty-Two Palestinians Killed and 2500 Injured by the Israeli Military in Just One Day, as Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump smile for a photo op at the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem? I am inconsolable about the loss of life on the Palestine-Israel border today, and how Trump and Netanyahu have placed citizens of both countries in further danger.
After visiting Israel and the West Bank twice when I was younger, where I was graciously hosted by Muslims, Jews and Christians, I now relinquish my right to ever enter Israel again for the rest of my life. I am doing so as someone who is Pro-Semitic, caring equally for the survival, patrimony and dignity of all people who have Semitic roots , whether those roots were among Arabs, Jews, Nabateans, Phoenicians, etc.
No one benefits from this slaughter. No one should condone violence on either side, or dismiss inhabitants’ concerns there. Not until American Jews, Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, atheists and indigenous rights activists unite to reject such dangerous policies by our president, his son-in-law and their business ties in Israel can there be a chance of peace.
I equally reject further dangerous acts by Hamas and the PLO. This Dark Day was Avoidable!
