If at least of half of the world’s population will be living in hot, dry landscapes, what do we the desert animals and plants, need to teach them about how to live a desert life well?
How do we turn their conception of deserts, and assumptions of a diminished life, inside out?
I invite all readers to offer at least one precious piece of wisdom, about the benefits of desert living to the rest of us, through my humble little Facebook and Twitter pages, just as I asked my 25 dear friends who contributed to the University of Arizona Press book to do the same.
Our collective imaginations can help right the ship that wind-sails over the desert seas. (By the way, the ancients of Central Asia and Western China did invent wind schooners to sail across the dunes of the Gobi and Taklamakan Deserts!)
