Bridging The Divides

I’ve missed so many of you, your insights and compassion, that I am back after dealing with for weeks with an injured knee, an ailing mother & a half-broken heart. I thank of all you for the many ways you make our world better (more just), healthier, as well as culturally and biologically richer. I need to hear each of your voices, now more than ever…

The ravens flew over this morning,
on their way down to the pecan trees
to do something about the cracked nuts
I let slip onto the ground around noon yesterday
while harvesting pecans myself.

Like ravens, each of us can do something
to clean up the mess left around us
& deal with the cracked-up nuts in our midst.
