I love the notion that no two places in the world can be restored in exactly the same matter. You could choose two denuded prairies that may seem the same in their impoverished state, and you could sow the same set of seeds upon them, burn them with the same frequency, compost them or weed them the same season, and they would not turn out the same way.
History is imbedded in them, as is a distinctive future.
